Milford Maintenance Facility Taking Shape

The renovations and additions to the state Department of Transportation Maintenance and repair facility in Milford is an $11.4 million construction contract for the existing facility on Banner Drive in Milford.

The work consists of demolishing the office, bays and stockroom spaces and renovating or constructing 11 repair bays, 1 repair weld shop, 8 electrical bays, one electrical repair shop and 15 maintenance bays. Work also includes building new offices and a new stockroom, plus support space for the mechanical, sprinkler, electrical, communications and brine equipment rooms.

Site work includes excavating and grading to accommodate the new addition, removing and disposing of existing pavement, demolition and disposal of the existing facility and fuel island, improving the grade for storm runoff, installing new utilities, new pavement, a new fuel island, a new repair facility building, curbing, fencing and lighting.
