DOT Maintenance Facility

The Project consisted of the construction of a 100,000 square foot repair facility located on Brook Street in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Building work for the single story facility consisted of the construction of (12) vehicle repair bays, (2) CNG/inspection bays, a weld shop, (2) lube bays, a lubricant storage room, a wash bay, a Stores Stockroom, an office area, equipment platform, a machine shop, aerial bucket bay, (2) weld/fabrication shop bays, a parts washer room, and multiple paint bays. The building is steel frame construction with exterior steel siding and brick. The work also includes the construction of a cold storage building and the installation of storage containers.
Environmental and hazardous material work associated with this facility included polluted soils, the removal of an underground storage tank system and the installation of a liner and sub-slab ventilation systems. Work also included lead, asbestos, and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) abatement removal and disposal.
