This project consisted of repairs to thirteen existing train stations around the state: Wilton, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Branchville, Greenwich, Danbury, Wilton, Westport, Stamford, Ansonia, South Norwalk, Beacon Falls, and Noroton Heights. Work included interior and exterior renovation to wood framed structure in Wilton. Miscellaneous repairs included replacement of light poles, structural repairs, concrete repairs, and replacement of tactile warning strips. Concrete repair work included milling platforms and placing Latex Modified Concrete wearing surfaces. Rizzo also performed partial and full depth patch repairs at concrete stairs and station platforms, installed chain link fence at Wilton station, formed and poured new concrete stairs and on grade platforms, reconstructed existing steel stairs at pedestrian bridge across railroad tracks.

Rizzo Corp. supervised the activities associated with characterizing, handling, and disposing of regulated material; our project manager procured and coordinated licensed personnel to legally dispose of lead- and asbestos-containing materials. The work was performed concurrently at three stations to expedite work, and Rizzo closely coordinated with Metro North operations to minimize impact to rail service.
