Steel Flying High at Rocky Hill DOT Facility

Workers are erecting steel at the DOT’s newest maintenance facility in Rocky Hill. The state Department of Transportation maintenance and repair facility, designed to be 80,000-square-feet in 2017, is located at the center of the state. It will be used to repair, paint, sand, upgrade and lubricate the state DOT’s fleet of maintenance vehicles. The $31 million building includes a sanding and painting bay, 12 service bays, a storage area, offices, two lubrication bays and a machine shop.

The project is scheduled for completion in May 2017, and workers are now erecting the steel beams.
