Foundations Taking Shape at $31 Million at DOT Facility

The state Department of Transportation maintenance and repair facility is rising from the ground in Rocky Hill.

The 80,000-square-foot facility, located at the center of the state, will be used to maintain and upgrade transportation equipment. The $31 million building includes a sanding and painting bay, 12 service bays, a storage area, offices, two lubrication bays and a machine shop.

The project is scheduled for completion in May 2017, and workers are completing the foundations.
